Joe called home at 7AM this morning (1PM Berlin time). He is doing well and seems happy. He had a couple hours of classes this morning and has been on a combination bus and walking tour of architedtural points of interest around Berlin.
His hotel is a nice, modern Courtyard Mariott. The internet service there is expensive and the internet cafe they visited only let you use cafe computers, so he's not sure of how often he can post to this blog or leave pictures.
He said that not as many people in Berlin speak English as his experience last time in more southern cities. He's used some of his German in restaurants but then they speak really fast and he has to stop them and ask if they speak any English.
Joe was in good spirits and it was great to hear from him.

Your sister is going to FL with a carful of girls and Ms. Roney on Saturday June 2! We won't see her for a week. Have a great time and call when you can. We love you! Mom
